Mississippi Gahtdam™
Mississippi Gahtdam™
Smoky black tea with hints of vanilla, cocoa, and a distinctive bourbon flavor, complemented with a touch of sweet apple.
--
Mississippi Gahtdam. Named for the iconic recording by the late Ms. Nina Simone, and for the sentiments expressed in her lyrics, this black tea blend is bound to be unlike anything you've ever experienced in a full-leaf tea. Sweet and smoky and fascinatingly reminiscent of the smoothest of bourbons, Mississippi Gahtdam can be enjoyed with spirits as a delicious hot toddy or iced with a bit of mint syrup, but is absolutely delicious without for those occasions that call for a bit of discretion.
Still, for all of the enjoyment to be had when sipping this tea, its creation was still birthed out of pain - the frustration of generation after generation that has had to face the adversities and disparities of being black in America. Many were (and still are) driven to vices for relief, for some sort of temporary reprieve. This in turn, of course only caused further damage. It may seem odd to use tea as a means of expression, but here, it is our own form of revolution.
